Men's Soccer: Paradise Earns BIG EAST Honor

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University men’s soccer player Paul Paradise has been named to the BIG EAST weekly honor roll after scoring his second game-winning goal of the season in a double overtime win at Syracuse on Sunday, Sept. 23. The Mountaineers went 1-1 last weekend, its first in conference play.

Paradise, Pittsburgh, Pa. native, ranks second on the squad with five points, 12 shots and one assist. Paradise netted his second goal of the season off of assists from senior Dan Stratford and sophomore Tony Lindroos at the 106:55 mark of the second overtime period to secure the 1-0 victory over the Orange.
The true freshman is tied with Stratford at two goals a piece to lead the squad in goals and game-winning goals. Paradise was named BIG EAST rookie of the week last week after netting the winning goal against then-No. 5 Duke on Sept. 15.
WVU will return home to host DePaul on Friday, Sept. 28. Game time is set for 7 p.m. and is part of a doubleheader with the women’s soccer team who will host St. John’s at 5 p.m.
