MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University coaching staff has named its award winners for outstanding play in the 31-14 win at Maryland this past Thursday.
Offensive Champion – Steve Slaton; Defensive Champion – Johnny Dingle; Special Teams Champion – Vaughn Rivers; Offensive Scout Champion – Charlie Russell; Defensive Scout Champion – Jim Lewis; Special Teams Scout Champion – Tommy Contraguerro; Hammer Award – Ryan Mundy; Nail – Owen Schmitt.
The Mountaineers, 3-0 and No. 5 in the AP and USA Today/Coaches Poll, host East Carolina in a non-conference contest on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007, at Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium at Noon.
