Volleyball: Mountaineers Win Again

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University volleyball player Tammy Wolf was named to the all tournament team today as the Mountaineers posted wins over Albany and Buffalo in the Western New York Invitational in Buffalo, N.Y.
In game one the Mountaineers defeated Albany 3-1 (29-31, 30-19, 30-24, 30-28) in a hard fought battle. Leading the team in kills was all-tournament selection Wolf with 14 while freshman libero Bonnie West continued her success with 23 digs. The Mountaineers out-blocked Albany (2-2) 11.5 to 6 blocks.
The Mountaineers went on to defeated Buffalo (1-6) Saturday evening in a clean 3-0 (30-24, 30-21, 30-18) sweep. Once again leading the team in kills was Wolf with 15 followed by senior outside hitter Abby Tevis with 12.
WVU is now 4-1 on the season. The Mountaineers next match will be on Sunday, Sept. 2, 2007 against Canisius at 4:30 p.m. to conclude the Western New York Invitational.
