Men's Soccer: Wright Preseason All-American

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University men’s soccer senior midfielder Andy Wright has been named to the Soccer America preseason All-American team announced today.
Wright started all 21 matches for the Mountaineers last season scoring five goals, posting six assists and accumulating 16 points. The senior was named to the 2006 NSCAA second team all-northeast region team as well as being named a BIG EAST Academic All-Star.
The senior scored two goals and had one assist in a pair of exhibition games to prepare for the 2007 season. Wright was selected to the preseason all-BIG EAST team for the second consecutive year on Aug. 6.
The Soccer America preseason men’s All-American team is comprised of 23 athletes from across the country, with a total of five hailing from the BIG EAST.
The Mountaineers will open the 2007 regular season on Aug. 31 against Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio, where they will participate in the Bert and Iris Wolstein Soccer Classic. Game time is set for 5 p.m. and will be televised live on the Big Ten Network.
