Men's Soccer: WVU To Face Kentucky In Exhibition

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – The West Virginia University men’s soccer team will conclude its exhibition play as it hosts Kentucky on Aug. 25, at 7 p.m. at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.
The squad defeated Marshall 3-0 in its first exhibition match on Aug. 22 in front of a crowd of 809.
Kentucky opened its 2007 season on Aug. 20 when they tied Dayton 1-1 in the exhibition opener at the UK Soccer Complex. The Wildcats finished the 2006 season ranked 13th in the final NSCAA/ adidas coaches’ poll with an overall record of 14-5-2. Kentucky finished second in Conference USA, and returns 16 letterwinners and eight starters to this year’s squad. SEC member UK is one of three Southeastern Conference schools to have a men’s soccer program and is a member of C-USA in soccer only.
WVU will open its regular season on Aug. 31 when they travel to Columbus, Ohio, to take on Ohio State for a 5 p.m. match in the Bert and Iris Wolstein Soccer Classic.
