“We are excited to face such a tough opponent in Kentucky and it will be a solid test to see where we stand against the SEC tournament champions,” says head coach Nikki Izzo-Brown. “We hope our fans will come out and get their first glimpse of this year’s team.”
The Mountaineers, preseason favorites to win the BIG EAST American Division title, will also face James Madison on Saturday, Aug. 25, in their final exhibition outing. Both exhibition contests will be held at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium and are open and free to the public.
The Mountaineers return nine starters as they look to repeat as BIG EAST American Division champions. Izzo-Brown begins her 12th season as head coach of the Mountaineers and has led her teams to seven straight NCAA tournament appearances.
