Men's Soccer: Carr Joins Men's Soccer Staff

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Mark Carr has joined the West Virginia University men’s soccer coaching staff as a graduate assistant, head coach Marlon LeBlanc announced today.
Carr will be responsible for training the goalkeepers, assisting in the day-to-day operations of the program and will be heavily involved in recruiting.
The Bloomington, Minn., native comes to West Virginia from Elmira College in New York where he was the head men’s soccer coach for three seasons. Elmira had five players named Empire 8 all-conference and featured the 2006 Empire 8 Rookie of the Year on its squad under Carr. Carr also had four of his players named NSCAA East Region Academic All-Americans.
In addition to developing players, Carr handled all areas at Elmira including scheduling, fundraising, equipment, and score reporting to the media. Carr served as the director of intramurals at the school for three years and was the director of the fitness center in 2006. He also obtained a master’s of science in education at Elmira in 2006.
Carr is a 2003 graduate of the Virginia Military Institute, where he earned his bachelor of arts in history. While at VMI, he was a four-year starter for the Keydets, a team captain and a member of the Southern Conference all-academic team.
Carr is a member of the NSCAA and holds NSCAA National and Advanced National Diplomas.
He will be pursuing a master’s degree in athletic coaching education at WVU.
