MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Former West Virginia University baseball player Justin Jenkins was named to the 12th annual Pro-Line Athletic National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) All-American Team the organization announced.
Jenkins was one of five players selected to the third team outfield. The senior leftfielder finished the 2007 season with a .372 average, 21 doubles, 11 home runs and 47 RBI to earn his second consecutive all-BIG EAST first team selection.
A Ridgeley, W.Va., native, Jenkins leaves West Virginia University as one of the best hitters in school history. In only three years as a Mountaineer, Jenkins set eight school records including a 38-game hit streak, the longest ever by a BIG EAST player and good for 10th all-time in NCAA history.
Previously, he was tabbed to Collegiate Baseball’s All-America third team at the end of May.
Jenkins signed a pre-draft free agent deal with the Cleveland Indians on May 23.
