Three Sign as Free Agents

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Three West Virginia University football players have signed free agent contracts with NFL teams.
As of Monday afternoon, offensive guard Jeremy Sheffey signed with the San Diego Chargers, linebacker Kevin McLee signed with the St. Louis Rams and center Dan Mozes signed with the Minnesota Vikings.
Mozes was a consensus All-America center who won the Rimington Trophy as the nation’s top center. The Washington, Pa., resident made 39 consecutive starts at center blocking for one of the top rushing offenses in the country the past two seasons.
Sheffey was a three-year starter at offensive guard who earned first team all-Big East and all-ECAC honors his senior season. The Catlettsburg, Ky., native made 33 starts during his Mountaineer career.
McLee was a three-year starter at linebacker, earning first team all-Big East status as a junior in 2005. McLee produced 149 tackles, 12.5 tackles for losses and 5 sacks his last two seasons and accumulated nearly 250 tackles for his career. He is a Uniontown, Pa., native.
Wide receiver Brandon Myles and long snapper Tim Lindsey are also expected to sign free agent deals.
No WVU players were selected in the seven-round NFL draft concluded on Sunday.
