Women’s Soccer: Money Raised For Breast Cancer

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women’s soccer team raised over $8,000 in their efforts to help fight breast cancer.

The Mountaineers played host to a weekend of events on April 14-15, to raise awareness and money for breast cancer research. All of the money raised throughout the weekend, $8,300.51 in total, went directly to the Betty Puskar Breast Cancer Fund at the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center. Funds are used to support diagnosis and treatment efforts and to provide opportunities to help patients and their families in the midst of battling breast cancer.

“I’m very proud of our ladies for their efforts in raising this money for breast cancer research,” says head coach Nikki Izzo-Brown. “It was an exciting weekend of soccer where our players bonded with young soccer stars throughout the state and in our wonderful community.”

Over the past four years, the WVU women’s soccer team has raised more than $26,000 to help fight breast cancer.
