Baseball: West Virginia to Host Coppin State

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University baseball team will host Coppin State in a doubleheader on Tuesday, April 3, at 1 p.m. at Hawley Field.
West Virginia (15-8, 3-3) enters tomorrow’s competition after dropping three road games to Louisville March 30-April 1. During last weekend’s games, senior Justin Jenkins passed former Mountaineer Stan Posluszny on the all-time career doubles list. Jenkins knocked his 59th career double on Friday, March 30, to become the new career doubles leader.
Jenkins and sophomore Adam White are batting .436 and .402, respectively, on the season to lead WVUat the plate. Left-handed pitchers Kenny Durst and Matt Yurish have both struck out a team-high 32 batters. Durst is 3-1 after 43.2 innings on the mound while Yurish is 1-1 after 33.2 innings of work.
Coppin State (0-23) comes to Morgantown after being swept by Norfolk State March 31-April 1. Freshman Harry Williams leads the Eagles this season with a .323 batting average. Right-handed pitcher Teon Richburg has a team-best 9.89 ERA after 23.2 innings of play.
The Mountaineers lead the all-time series with the Eagles, 9-1.
