MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women’s soccer team knocked off Pitt, 4-1, Saturday evening at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium. The victory kicked off the fourth annual Betty Puskar Breast Care Center Soccer Invitational – a weekend dedicated to helping fight breast cancer and raising awareness about the disease.

Competition continued Sunday at the Caperton Indoor Practice Facility with a 4-versus-4 tournament. Thirty-four teams of boys and girls in grades three through eight, and an open division for college-age and older groups, made up the "Three's a team, the fourth's a Mountaineer" tournament field.
“It was another opportunity for our program to interact with soccer fans of all ages, and from different regions throughout the state,” said assistant coach Nikki Goodenow. “Our ladies had a lot of fun this weekend, all while supporting a great cause. It was again a great showing from our community, including a generous donation from Pro Performance.”
All of the money raised throughout the weekend will go directly to the Betty Puskar Breast Cancer Fund at the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center. Funds are used to support diagnosis and treatment efforts and to provide opportunities to help patients and their families in the midst of battling breast cancer.
