Tennis: WVU Set for Three at Eagle Classic

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University’s tennis team is set to play Southern Mississippi on the first day of competition at the Eagle Classic in Hattiesburg, Miss., on Friday, Mar. 23, at 2 p.m. (cst).
Southern Miss owns a 2-0 record over WVU. The Eagles last defeated the Mountaineers, 4-3, in 2005.
WVU is coming off a key 4-3 BIG EAST victory over rival Pitt on Mar. 16. The Mountaineers (8-6, 3-1) were able to sweep the doubles matches, while juniors Stacey Percival and Monica Lyskawa and freshman Alexandra Kaluza secured the other team points.
The squad will play two additional non-conference matches at the Classic. WVU will play Troy at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Mar. 24, and Long Island University at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Mar. 25.
