Rifle: WVU to Host Open Invitational

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University Rifle Range will be host to an open invitational match this weekend. Area shooters are invited to come to the Mountaineer Rifle Range on Friday, March 2, and Saturday, March 3, to participate in the competition.
In early January, the Mountaineers received a grant to install a state-of-the-art electronic target system. Mayor Ron Justice was instrumental in helping the team receive the grant. This weekend will mark the first match with the new technology.
“It’s exciting to have the targets up and running,” said WVU coach Jon Hammond. “This is a good occasion to have the first match with the new targets.”
