Men's Basketball: Ruoff Earns Academic Honor

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - West Virginia University men's basketball sophomore Alex Ruoff has been named to the 2006-07 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II men's basketball first team as selected by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America).
A history major with a 3.85 GPA, Ruoff has started every game this season for the Mountaineers, averaging 9.5 points and 3.4 rebounds per game. He leads the Mountaineers in assists (122) and steals (51).
Along with Ruoff, Steve Danley of Penn, Chris McNaughton of Bucknell, Juston Conway of Princeton and Kieron Achara of Duquesne earned all-district first-team honors.
Ruoff, a native of Spring Hill, Fla., is now a candidate for Academic All-America honors.
