Gymnastics: Dennis Named EAGL Specialist of Week

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University senior gymnast Tynisha Dennis has been named the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) specialist of the week for the second time this season.
Dennis, a native of Bowie, Md., set a new career-high on vault (9.875) while also tying her career-high on floor (9.925) in a five-team meet on Feb. 3, at the Coliseum. Her 9.925 on floor won the event and she also placed second in the vault in the individual awards.
Dennis currently leads the EAGL in floor average at 9.831, while ranking eighth in vault with a 9.762 average. Dennis also received this award back on Jan. 22.
North Carolina senior Christine Robella and Pittsburgh senior Andrea Arlotta were named EAGL co-gymnasts of the week. For the second week in a row, North Carolina freshman Christine Nguyen claimed the EAGL rookie of the week honor.
WVU (9-3, 5-0 EAGL) moved up three spots to No. 22 in the GymInfo poll with a composite average of 193.682 through four meets this season.
The Mountaineers return to competition on Feb. 10, in a meet at New Hampshire with Brown and No. 17 Michigan State in Durham, N.H. Meet time is set for 7 p.m.
