Tennis: Mountaineers Travel to Cincinnati

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University’s tennis team travels to Cincinnati, Ohio, for its second BIG EAST match on Saturday, Feb. 24. The Mountaineers will battle the Bearcats at 4 p.m. at the Western Tennis and Fitness Club.
Saturday’s match will be the 12th between the conference foes. WVU holds a 6-5 series edge.
WVU (5-4, 1-0) is coming off a 4-3 home win over Maryland-Baltimore County. Securing the victory for the Mountaineers was junior Monica Lyskawa, who defeated Pascaline Cette in the No.3 match, 1-6, 7-6, 7-3.
Lyskawa leads WVU with singles wins, having beaten the last six opponents she’s faced.
The Mountaineers will have a week off before they travel to Tampa, Fla., and face-off against No. 31 South Florida on Saturday, Mar. 3. The match will be held at 11 a.m. at the USF Varsity Tennis Courts.
