Women's Basketball: WVU No. 17 in AP Poll

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University’s women’s basketball team (10-2) moved up one spot to No. 17 with 441 points in the Associated Press Poll, released today.
The Mountaineers were ranked No. 18 last week with 419 points, having dropped five spots after its 79-66 loss at Indiana, Dec. 22, in Bloomington. WVU has been idle for the holiday season since.
Four other BIG EAST teams were ranked in the poll: No. 1 Connecticut, No. 6 Rutgers, No. 14 Notre Dame and No. 15 DePaul.
WVU returns to action Saturday, Jan. 5, at 7 p.m. against USF (10-2) at the Sun Dome in Tampa, Fla.
