Women's Basketball: WVU Remains No. 13

West Virginia University’s nationally ranked women’s basketball team (9-1) remained No. 13 in the Associated Press Poll, receiving 645 points, released today.
The ranking marks the third consecutive week the Mountaineers have been ranked at No. 13 in the poll. WVU received 599 points in last week’s poll.
Also, WVU has now been ranked for seven straight weeks since the preseason, setting a school record for the most consecutive weeks ranked in the AP Poll. West Virginia was previously ranked in six straight weeks from Feb. 9 to March 15, 1992, reaching as high as No. 11 during that span. The Mountaineers advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16 that season with a school record
Other BIG EAST teams were No. 2 Connecticut, No. 6 Rutgers, No. 15 DePaul and No. 17 Notre Dame.
West Virginia returns to action this evening at the O’Rena when it takes on Oakland (6-2), at 7:00 p.m., in Detroit, Mich.
