Volleyball: Mountaineers Close Out Season

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University volleyball team will close out the 2007 season at home this weekend with matches against Rutgers on Saturday, Nov. 10, and Duquesne on Sunday, Nov. 11. Both matches are set for 2 p.m.
Led by seniors Abby Tevis and Kailee Goold, the Mountaineers are 14-14, 4-9 this season. Tevis leads the team in kills with 406 while Goold has posted 1,133 total assists on the season.
The Scarlet Knights (3-20, 1-11) are coming off a loss to Fordham this past week at the Rose Hill Gym in Bronx, N.Y. The Mountaineers lead the Scarlet Knights 20-16 in their all-time series record, which began in 1983. Last season the Mountaineers fell to the Scarlet Knights 0-3, in New Brunswick, N.J.
In their final game of the season, the Mountaineers will take on Duquesne(10-17, 2-10) at the WVU Coliseum. Last season the Mountaineers dropped three games to the Dukes in Pittsburgh, Pa. The Mountaineers currently lead the all-time series record 26-14.
Sunday’s game against Duquesne will be senior day for the Mountaineers.
