Volleyball: Goold Honored for Academics

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University volleyball player Kailee Goold has been named to ESPN The Magazine’s Academic All-District volleyball first team announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) officials today.
Goold, a history and political science major, was also named to the team in 2005 and 2006. District 2 covers all universities in Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Goold is now eligible for Academic All-American consideration.
Goold, an Avon Lake, Ohio, native and setter for the Mountaineers, has had an outstanding career at WVU posting 329 kills, 96 service aces and 905 blocks over four years. Goold also ranks in third place on WVU’s all-time assists list with 3,246 in her career.
To qualify for the all-academic teams, student-athletes must have a minimum GPA of 3.21. Student-athletes are nominated by their respective sports information directors and are voted on by members of CoSIDA.
