Women's Soccer: WVU Ranked No. 12

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women’s soccer team moved up in all three national rankings this week after winning its BIG EAST quarterfinal match on Sunday, Nov. 4, advancing to the semifinals for the sixth time in program history.
West Virginia owns a 14-4-1 record and checks in at No. 12 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas poll, 13th by Soccer Buzz and No. 20 in the latest Soccer America poll.
The NSCAA/adidas poll released today is its final regular season ranking. The Mountaineers also earned a No. 2 regional ranking in the Middle Atlantic region. Virginia, ranked seventh in the nation, is the top team in WVU’s region.
WVU will battle No. 23 Louisville in a semifinal match on Friday, Nov. 9, at 7:30 p.m. Notre Dame, ranked as high as ninth, will meet Georgetown in the first semifinal at 5 p.m. All games will be played at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium with Friday’s winners advancing to Sunday’s championship match at noon.
Ticket prices are $5 for adults (19 & older) and $2 for youth (18 & younger). All BIG EAST students can attend for free with a valid student ID. Groups of 20 or more can purchase tickets in advance for $2 through the Mountaineer Ticket Office.
