NCAA BRACKET
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women’s soccer team will continue its quest for the 2007 NCAA College Cup against USC in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Championships Friday, Nov. 30, at 7 p.m., at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.
West Virginia, the No. 4 seed in its portion of the bracket, owns a record of 18-4-2 and carries a 10-game unbeaten streak into the weekend. The Mountaineers won first and second round action by defeating Navy (4-0) and JMU (2-0) at home. WVU most recently knocked off top-seed Penn State (1-0) in University Park, Pa., on Nov. 24.
USC, the No. 2 seed, owns a record of 17-3-2 and has won six of its last seven contests. The Trojans defeated Creighton (3-0) and Missouri (1-0, 2OT) in first and second round play in Columbia, Mo. The Women of Troy then knocked off Florida (1-0) at home on Nov. 24, to advance to the Elite Eight.
The Mountaineers are 2-0 all-time against Pac-10 opponents but have never faced the Trojans. WVU defeated Arizona (1-0) at home in 2004, and Washington (1-0) in Portland, Ore., in 2005.
Ticket prices for this weekend are $7 for adults and $5 for youth and students. All WVU students will be admitted free with a valid student ID.
The winner of Friday’s quarterfinal match will advance to the College Cup on Dec. 7, in College Station, Texas.
