MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University coaching staff has named its award winners for outstanding play in the 28-23 win at Cincinnati this past Saturday.
Offensive Champion – Steve Slaton; Defensive Champion – Johnny Dingle; Special Teams Champion – Pat McAfee; Offensive Scout Champion – Kevin Sanders; Defensive Scout Champion – Jim Lewis; Special Teams Scout Champion – C.J. Matthews; Hammer Award – None.
The Mountaineers (No. 3 USA Today Coaches Poll/No. 4 AP) (9-1, 4-1 BIG EAST Conference) welcome BIG EAST Conference foe Connecticut (No. 21 USA Today Coaches Poll/No. 20 AP) (9-2, 4-1 BIG EAST Conference) to Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium to compete for the conference championship and the automatic BCS bowl bid on Saturday, Nov. 24, at 3:30 p.m. The game will be televised on ABC.
