Men's Soccer: Carroll Earns Academic Honors

MORGANTOWN, W.Va.- West Virginia University men’s soccer senior defender Pat Carroll has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District men’s soccer team announced today by CoSIDA. Carroll, an athletic coaching education major, was named to the District 2 University Division first team after posting a 3.60 cumulative GPA.
Carroll is a key part of the WVU defense that has allowed just 18 shots in the last three matches, and just six goals all season. The Mountaineers are 11-5-1 on the season and hold a 6-3-1 BIG EAST record. WVU has earned a spot in the 2007 BIG EAST tournament. The bracket and seedings will be released on Sunday, Nov. 3.
The Mountaineers will return home to face BIG EAST foe Providence in the final regular season match on Saturday, Nov. 3. Game time is set for 7 p.m. The squad’s seven seniors will be honored prior to kick off.
