Women's Soccer: Cocchi Honored Again

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University women’s soccer player Natalie Cocchi was named to Soccer Buzz’s elite team of the week on Tuesday.
Cocchi, an Ocean Township, N.J., native was outstanding last week at center back in two home wins for West Virginia. The award is the third of the week for the senior after being named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week and one of 11 members on Soccer America’s Team of the Week.
Cocchi is the second Mountaineer to receive Soccer Buzz team of the week honors this season, joining junior Krystle Kallman (Sept. 11). The Soccer Buzz national honor is the third of Cocchi’s career.
West Virginia’s 4-0-1 BIG EAST record is its best start since the 2002 season when WVU also started 4-0-1 in conference play. The Mountaineers return to action on Friday, Oct. 12, at Providence, at 3 p.m.
