Men's Soccer: WVU To Take On Pitt

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 21 West Virginia University men’s soccer team will travel to Pittsburgh, Pa., to take on BIG EAST foe Pitt on Wednesday, Oct. 10. Kick off is set for 7 p.m. at Founders Field.
The Mountaineers and Panthers have met a total of 42 times in a series that began in 1962. The Mountaineers own a 30-9-3 overall record against Pitt. The two squads last met in 2005 when WVU defeated Pitt 2-0 on the Panther’s home field.
Last time out, Pitt fell to 1-8-2 on the season and 0-4-1 in league play after dropping a 4-0 decision at then-No. 2/2 Connecticut on Oct. 6. Pitt currently ranks eighth in the BIG EAST Blue Division while WVU is fourth.
Next up, WVU will return home to play host to Georgetown on Oct. 13, for a 7 p.m. kick off. The Hoyas hold an 8-3-0 all-time advantage over the Mountaineers. The match will be the first of three straight home games for WVU, its longest home stint of the season.
