MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 22-ranked West Virginia University women’s soccer team resumes BIG EAST play this weekend with a pair of home matches at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.
On Friday, Oct. 5, the Mountaineers will battle Louisville at 7 p.m. Friday’s contest with the Cardinals has been designated “Dollar Day” with all tickets, hot dogs, popcorn and Coca-Colas available for purchase for just one dollar.
West Virginia plays host to Cincinnati on Sunday, Oct. 7, at 1 p.m. At halftime of the match with the Bearcats, the women’s team will make a check presentation to the Betty Puskar Breast Care Center from the money raised in the spring.
“We have two tough BIG EAST matches this weekend, beginning with a very good Louisville team on Friday night,” says head coach Nikki Izzo-Brown. “We’ve had a good week of practice and need to carry that over into the weekend and get some more conference wins.”
WVU, 6-3-1 on the year, stands in second place in the BIG EAST’s American division with a 2-0-1 mark. Louisville is second in the National division with a 2-1 record, 7-2-1 overall. Cincinnati has yet to win a conference game at 0-3 and is 3-6-1 on the season.
