MORGANTOWN, W.Va.-The West Virginia University men’s soccer team will travel to Lafayette on Wednesday, Oct. 31, to face the Leopards. Game time is set for 7 p.m. The match will be taped by CSTV and will air on Nov. 2.
This is the first ever meeting between the two squads. WVU (10-5-1) and Lafayette (7-2-5) have faced only one common opponent in Penn State this season. WVU defeated PSU, 1-0, on Sept. 2, while Lafayette tied the Nittany Lions, 1-1.
Tomorrow’s match will be the first time this season that Lafayette will face a ranked opponent. Lafayette defeated Bucknell 2-1 on Oct. 27. Freshman B.J. Glenn scored both goals in the first half and his six shots were half of the entire team’s 12.
The Mountaineers are coming off of a 3-0 shutout at Seton Hall which was led by senior defender Andrew Halsell. For his efforts, Halsell was named BIG EAST Defender of the Week and was named to Top Drawer Soccer and Soccer America’s National Teams of the Week.
