MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University coaching staff has named its award winners for outstanding play in the 31-3 win at Rutgers this past Saturday.
Offensive Champion – Pat White, Ryan Stanchek; Defensive Champion – Entire Defensive Unit; Special Teams Champion – Pat McAfee; Offensive Scout Champion – Ed Collington, Noel Roman; Defensive Scout Champion – Evan Rodriguez; Special Teams Scout Champion – Jack Crow; Hammer Award – J.T. Thomas.
The Mountaineers, 7-1 overall, 2-1 BIG EAST Conference, No. 7 in the AP and USA Today/Coaches Polls, has this week off before welcoming BIG EAST rival Louisville, 5-4 overall, 2-2 BIG EAST Conference, on Thursday, Nov. 8, at Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium (60,000) at 7:30 p.m. The game will be televised by ESPN.
