Rifle: WVU Defeats Ole Miss For Third Straight Win

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – With three Mountaineer shooters shooting personal bests, the West Virginia University rifle team earned its third consecutive win as the squad defeated Ole Miss 4,614-4,551 today at the WVU rifle range.
Freshman Andrew Lamson shot a personal best of 577 in smallbore as the Mountaineers tallied 2,309 points to win the event against Ole Miss who shot a total of 2,238.
Sophomore Doug McAllister and senior Natasha Dinsmore both shot personal bests in air rifle shooting 582 and 584, respectively. Ole Miss posted 2,313 points to defeat the Mountaineers who shot a total of 2,305 points, but it was not enough to take over WVU who earned the win.
The Mountaineers are now off to a 3-0 start under second year Head Coach Jon Hammond. WVU will host Army on Sunday, Oct. 28 at 8 a.m.
