MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University coaching staff has named its award winners for outstanding play in the 38-13 win against Mississippi State this past Saturday.
Offensive Champion – Steve Slaton; Defensive Champion – Keilen Dykes, Antonio Lewis; Special Teams Champion – Vaughn Rivers; Offensive Scout Champion – C.J. Matthews; Defensive Scout Champion – Joe Rhein; Special Teams Scout Champion – Jayson Jackson; Hammer Award – None.
The Mountaineers, 6-1 overall, 1-1 BIG EAST Conference, No. 6 in the AP and USA Today/Coaches Polls, travel to Piscataway, N.J., to face BIG EAST Conference foe Rutgers, 5-2 overall, 2-1 BIG EAST Conference, No. 25 in the AP Poll and receiving votes in the USA Today/Coaches Poll, on Saturday, Oct. 27, at Rutgers Stadium (42,000) at Noon. The game will be televised by ABC.
