MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 20/21 West Virginia University men’s soccer team will face No. 1/2 Connecticut on Friday, Oct. 19, at 8 p.m. The match will be nationally broadcast live by Fox Soccer Channel. UConn currently is at the top of the BIG EAST Blue Division holding a 6-1-1 record and is on a six-game winning streak. WVU is in third place in the Blue Division holding an 8-5 overall record, 4-3 in conference play.
WVU defeated UConn last season, 3-0, on Sept. 30, in Storrs, Conn. UConn leads the all-time series against WVU by an 11-2-2 margin, dating back to 1984. The Mountaineers hope to mirror last season’s upset when WVU defeated Notre Dame in front of over 2,000 fans at Dick Dlesk.
Friday’s match has been deemed $1 day with tickets and select concessions available for only $1. Fans are also encouraged to wear gold and “Gold Rush” Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.
