Volleyball: Mountaineers Sweep Georgetown

MORGANTOWN, W.Va.– The West Virginia University volleyball team defeated Georgetown this evening at the McDonough Gym, in Washington, D.C.
The Mountaineers (12-9, 3-5) defeated the Hoyas (5-17, 1-6) in a 3-0 (30-21, 30-27, 30-28) match.
Senior outside hitter Abby Tevis led the Mountaineers today with 17 kills and 18.5 points, while junior middle blocker Lisa Hough followed with 11 kills and a .364 hitting percentage.
Senior setter Kailee Goold posted her 13th double-double on the season with 41 sets and 10 digs. Goold who ranks fifth in career assists at WVU now has 817 assists on the season giving her an impressive 2,930 in her career.
The Mountaineers will return to action on Friday, Oct 19, at the WVU Coliseum as they host BIG EAST foe Pitt. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
