Football: WVU Advances in Coaches' Poll

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia moved up two spots to seventh in this week’s USA Today Top 25 Coaches’ Poll, announced today. The Mountaineers dropped one spot from eighth to ninth in this week’s Associated Press Top 25 Poll.
The Mountaineers (5-1) were idle last weekend and face 4-3 Mississippi State at Milan Puskar Stadium this Saturday in the final non-conference game of the season. West Virginia has already defeated non-conference foes Western Michigan, Marshall, Maryland and East Carolina.
West Virginia has been ranked in the Top 10 in eight of the last nine weeks and has been ranked in 34 consecutive polls dating back to 2005.
South Florida moved up to second in the AP poll and third in the coaches’ poll while Cincinnati drops to 23rd in both polls.
Saturday’s game against Mississippi State will kick off at 3:30 p.m. and will be televised by ESPN Regional.
