MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University swimming and diving team travels to Pittsburgh, Pa., on Saturday, Jan. 6, to take on BIG EAST rival Pitt at Trees Pool. The meet is set to begin at 11 a.m.
The Mountaineers take to the pool after a month of winter training in Morgantown. Saturday’s meet will also be the second conference meet for WVU. The team previously competed against Louisville, with the men picking up the win, 194-104, and the women falling in a tight meet, 140-160.
Both the men’s and women’s squad are off to great starts this season. The men (5-0, 1-0) are currently ranked 20th on Swimming World Magazine’s Dual Meet Top 25 Poll. The women (4-2, 0-1) have made strides this year and are on pace to outperform last year’s squad.
The Mountaineers return to the WVU Natatorium to host St. Bonaventure and Georgetown on Sunday, Jan. 14, in their last home meet of the season. The tri-meet is set to start at noon.
