MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- Hi everyone! I hope you all had a great holiday and were able to kick back and enjoy some special time with your family and friends. It’s probably my favorite time of year for many reasons, most of which involves sleep and food. Practices during finals week were scheduled so that we could come in and work out around our exam schedule and allow us more time to study. The coaches understand how tough this week can be and we really appreciate their support. We came back after Christmas rested and ready to push ourselves even harder.
I can’t believe the season is about to start! The fall went so fast, especially with our football team doing so well -- not to mention our men’s and women’s soccer teams being ranked in the Top 10! Congrats to them and all the fall sports teams. Now it’s our turn and we’re really looking forward to the challenge. I really believe our team has such great potential this year and I’m very confident in my teammates’ abilities.
We’re having more intra-squads in the gym which is getting us in the mindset for actual competition and gives our freshmen a little taste of how it feels. We are definitely stronger on all four events at this point of the year than we have been which has given us confidence for the start of the season. It’s really motivating to see how everyone’s hard work the past few months is paying off. The off-season training we’ve done seems to have made a big difference and I think all the girls look awesome.
We can’t wait to start off the season with a great Blue-Gold meet so our friends and family can see what the team has been working on. I hope you all have a chance to come out and see a meet this year because I think the 2007 WVU gymnastics team is going to do some great things!
Let’s Go Mountaineers!
