West Virginia University women's basketball players Britney Davis-White and Kendra Goodley visited Brookhaven Elementary School on Dec. 13 to participate in the school's "Read to Me Day."
On December 13th, Kendra Goodley and I visited Brookhaven Elementary School and participated in their “Read To Me” day. The children in the classroom that we visited were very active and exciting to be around. They were very pleased that we were there visiting and at times, very hard to keep under control!
The book that I read was called, “I Love to Win”. It was about winning and losing and how you have to play fair when you play any sport. After reading, the kids and I spoke about the book and about the different topics the book covered. We also discussed the different sports they were interested in such as basketball, football and baseball. We all agreed that we do not like to lose and that we have to work hard and stay in school.
One little boy thought that I needed some help with my basketball skills and he even offered to give me his phone number so I could call him and he could help! I thought that was very cute and you never know -- I might take him up on it!!!
Near the end of the visit, Kendra and I signed autographs and took pictures with the children. We had a lot of fun and would love to go back and visit!
