Wrestling: 2006-07 Slate Announced

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University wrestling coach Craig Turnbull today announced the 2006-07 schedule.
After a one-year hiatus, the Mountaineers make a return trip to the NWCA National Duals Jan. 13-14, in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Hosted by Northern Iowa, the two-day event annually brings in the top 16 wrestling programs from across the country. This year’s field includes defending national champion Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Minnesota, Iowa State, Michigan and Iowa.
The schedule features four tournaments including the WVU Open, which opens the season on Nov. 4, at the WVU Shell Building in Morgantown, W.Va. The other tournaments include the Navy Classic on Nov. 18, the Las Vegas Invitational Dec. 1-2, and the Midlands Classic Dec. 29-30.
West Virginia is slated to host four dual meets this season beginning with Duquesne on Dec. 15, at 8 p.m. Ohio, defending EWL champion Edinboro and Cleveland State will also be traveling to Morgantown.
WVU will face EWL foes Bloomsburg, Clarion, Pitt and Lock Haven on the road.
