Gymnastics: 2007 Schedule Revealed

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - West Virginia University gymnastics coach Linda Burdette today announced the team’s 2007 schedule. WVU will host six meets concluding with the 2007 NCAA Regionals at the WVU Coliseum on April 14.
West Virginia will start the year off with its annual Gold & Blue intrasquad meet on Jan. 7, before opening up the season at home against powerhouse Michigan and James Madison.
“Our squad is excited to face some very talented schools on this year’s schedule,” Burdette said. “We have some meets set up with our traditional rivals like Pitt and Penn State, but we have developed some good rivalries with some of our conference members as well.”
In WVU’s 11 meets, West Virginia will face 28 opponents and 20 different schools over the course of the year with the Mountaineers competing against four schools twice: Kentucky, Maryland, New Hampshire and Pitt. WVU will square off against George Washington and Michigan State three times.
The Mountaineers will face five schools that are ranked in the top 20 including two schools, Michigan and Nebraska, that are in the top 10.
