Cross Country: WVU Set For Spiked Shoe Invite

Morgantown, W.Va. – The West Virginia University cross country team will travel to State College, Pa., for the Spiked Shoe Invitational, Saturday, Sept. 23, at 10:00 a.m.
The squad, led by second year head coach Sean Cleary, returns to competition after finishing fifth at the Lock Haven Invitational last week. The Mountaineers were led by freshman Keri Bland, who finished sixth with a time of 21:47. Redshirt freshman Clara Grandt finished ninth (21:54) and junior Maria Stover placed 18th (22:13).
The team will be running against a field of 23 teams, including BIG EAST foes Connecticut, Pittsburgh and Syracuse.
The team will next travel to Bethlehem, Pa., for the Paul Short Invitational on Sept. 29.
