Volleyball: WVU Travels to Charleston

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University volleyball team travels to Charleston, W.Va., Sept. 19, to take on Marshall at 7 p.m. at the Charleston Civic Center.
Marshall (8-6) is coming off a 3-0 win over Wisconsin-Green Bay on Sept. 16. The Mountaineers (1-12) finished the weekend with a three match loss at the Raider Challenge. WVU fell 0-3 to Wright State, 0-3 to Denver and 1-3 to Akron. West Virginia is 27-12 all-time against the Thundering Herd.
West Virginia is led by outsider hitter Abby Tevis’ 3.39 kills per game. Teammate Lisa Hough, a middle blocker, registers 0.76 blocks per game for the Mountaineers, a team high. Libero Aurora Ebert-Santos tallies 4.32 digs per game.
“We are looking forward to playing in Charleston,” says head coach Veronica Hammersmith. “We don’t get to play there very much so we are excited to go.”
