Volleyball: WVU Swept by Wright State

DAYTON, Ohio – The West Virginia University volleyball team was swept by Wright State tonight in its opening match at the Raider Challenge.
Wright State (4-7) won the match 0-3 (30-26, 30-24, 30-28).
West Virginia (1-10) battled to keep the score close in game one but the Raiders recorded the win. The Mountaineers took an early lead in game two, but could not hold on. Wright State tied the game at 5-5 and kept up the momentum to win the game 30-24. The Raiders showed early domination in game three. WVU attempted to battle back, but fell to 28-30.
West Virginia was led by outsider hitter Abby Tevis’ 10 kills and libero Aurora Ebert-Santos’ 20 digs. West Virginia will open day two action with a Noon match against Denver. WVU will close out the Raider Challenge in a 5 p.m. bout with Akron.
