Volleyball: WVU Travels to Raider Challenge

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University volleyball team travels to Dayton, Ohio, to participate in the Raider Challenge Sept. 15-6.
West Virginia (1-9) will open the tournament with a 7 p.m. match against tournament host Wright State (3-7). WVU is 1-4 all-time against the Raiders.
The Mountaineers kick off day two action with a Noon match against Denver (4-3). This match marks the first meeting between the two schools. West Virginia will close out their portion of the Raider Challenge in a 5 p.m. bout with Akron (4-6). The two teams met earlier in the season at the West Virginia Classic. The Zips walked away with the win over the Mountaineers by a score of 3-0.
WVU is coming off a 0-3 finish at the Saluki Invitational. The squad fell 0-3 to Belmont, 1-3 to Austin Peay and 0-3 to Southern Illinois. Outside hitter Abby Tevis was named to the Saluki Invitational All-Tournament Team.
West Virginia is led by Tevis’ 2.89 kills per game and libero Aurora Ebert-Santos’ 4.00 digs per game.
