MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- West Virginia University women’s tennis coach Dan Silverstein has resigned to pursue other career opportunities.
“I want to thank WVU for five wonderful years,” Silverstein says. “The future is bright for West Virginia women’s tennis. I am starting a new chapter in my life and look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead.”
Silverstein has served as head coach at WVU for five seasons, posting a 54-53 record. This season, the Mountaineers were 10-11, qualifying for the BIG EAST tournament and earning two ESPN/CoSIDA academic all-district awards.
“Dan has been very successful with the Mountaineer tennis program and a great member of our athletic family,” says WVU athletic director Ed Pastilong. “We wish him well in his future endeavors.”
A national search for Silverstein’s replacement will begin immediately.
