Rowing: WVU Strong at BIG EAST Championships

WORCESTER, Mass. – The West Virginia University rowing team finished eighth with 21 points at the BIG EAST championships on Sunday, April 30, in Worcester, Mass.
The Mountaineers finished third in the Varsity 4 heat (7:56.16) before going on to finish sixth in the Varsity 4 Grand Finale with a time of 8:08.22.
In Varsity 8 action, West Virginia finished fifth in its respective heat (7:11.09). The Mountaineers then went on to claim third in the Petite Final in a time of 7:16.67 behind BIG EAST newcomer Cincinnati (6:52.58) and Rutgers (6:54.52).
In the Novice 4 Grand Final, WVU claimed third (8:08.45).
Notre Dame won the championship for the second straight season with a total of 122 points.
