Track: Czaikowski Places Second in Hurdles

DURHAM, N.C. – The West Virginia University outdoor track team had a few more top performers at the Duke Invitational on April 7-8, in Durham, N.C., in the team’s third meet of the outdoor season.
Junior Jessica Czaikowski took second behind Kamilah Tyson in the 100-meter hurdles at 13.91 seconds. Czaikowski had previously run a 13.81 in the preliminaries. West Virginia’s 4x100 relay team also took second place in 45.94 seconds.
Senior Junique Morris sprinted to a fourth place finish in the 100 meter dash. Morris’ time in the finals was 12.14 seconds. Senior Lindsey Clark was also able to place fourth in the javelin with a throw of 41.71 meters.
Shani Boone added the Mountaineers amount of top-10 finishes by taking seventh place in the 200. Boone’s time registered at 24.42 seconds.
Raeleen Hunter ran a 2:12.83 in the 800 meter run, good for 18th place. Alexis Noel jumped 5.23 meters in the long jump to take 28th and Beth Hummel took 19th in the discus with a throw of 37.58 meters.
The Mountaineers return to action this weekend on April 14-16, at the Mt. Sac Relays in Walnut, Calif.
