Women's Tennis: WVU Prepares for Weekend Matches

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University women's tennis team readies for three weekend matches as they travel to face three BIG EAST foes in Seton Hall, Villanova and Rutgers, April 7-9, 2006.
The Mountaineers (5-10, 3-3 BIG EAST) are coming off a huge 4-2 win over Maryland-Baltimore County on Tuesday, April 4.
"We've had a great deal of confidence these past few days and are ready for this critical weekend of Big East matches," head coach Dan Silverstein said.
West Virginia's first match of the weekend will come at Seton Hall on Friday, April 7, in South Orange, N.J. The Pirates (8-9, 2-4 BIG EAST) are coming off a 5-2 loss to Marquette on April 1. The match is set to begin at 1 p.m.
The Mountaineers will then take on Villanova on Saturday, April 8, at 10 a.m. in Villanova, Pa. The Wildcats (11-6, 6-3 BIG EAST) were swept, 7-0, by Rutgers on April 7.
In the final match of the weekend, the Mountaineers will face Rutgers in Piscataway, N.J.on Sunday, April 9. The Scarlet Knights (11-6, 6-3 BIG EAST) easily disposed of Villanova in a 7-0 sweep on April 7. First serve is set for 10 a.m.
" I expect a great weekend of tennis from this outstanding group of young women," Silverstein said.
