Track: WVU Takes 11th at ECAC Championships

BOSTON, Mass. – The West Virginia University track team posted an 11th place finish with 26 points at the ECAC Championships in Boston, Mass., on March 4-5.
Georgetown won the team title with 65 points, followed by Northeastern (49), Boston University (45), Cornell (38), and St. John’s (38) to round out the top five teams.
The Mountaineers had a number of different athletes place in the top eight spots of their respective events to score team points.
Junior Jessica Czaikowski and senior Junique Morris were each able to score points for WVU in their two events. Czaikowski took second in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.45 and fourth in the 60-meter dash (7.60). Morris placed eighth in 60-meter dash with a 7.74 and sixth in the 200-meter dash (24.67) to add to the Mountaineer point total.
The WVU distance medley relay team featured Susan Davis, Halimah Bashir, Alison Spiker, and Raeleen Hunter, and was able to place fifth at 11:28.47.
Senior Jen Hall set a new personal best in the pole vault. Hall cleared 3.65 meters to take seventh place and former Penn Relays champion Nancy Regalbuto high jumped 1.70 meters to take sixth place.
“I was pleased with our performance, especially from our seniors,” head coach Jeff Huntoon said.
