Women's Basketball: Bulger Makes AP Team

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Despite missing a good portion of the season with a knee injury, West Virginia University junior guard Meg Bulger was named to the Associated Press women’s basketball honorable mention All-America team, announced today.
Bulger averaged a team-best 19.8 points per game in 18 games before a knee injury ended her season at St. John’s on Jan. 29. The Pittsburgh resident shot 43.2 percent from 3-point distance, making 63 of her 146 3-point tries. Bulger also averaged 4.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game, while making 39 steals. At the time of her injury, she was third in the BIG EAST in scoring and led the nation with 3.5 3-point field goals made per contest.
Last season, Bulger was a WBCA/Kodak honorable mention All-Amercian.
The AP All-America first team consisted of LSU senior Seimone Augustus, North Carolina junior Ivory Latta, Rutgers senior Cappie Pondexter, Oklahoma freshman Courtney Paris and Baylor senior Sophia Young.
Withoutits best player, West Virginia (15-16) made it all the way to the Big East championship game, upsetting three straight NCAA tournament teams including Big East regular season champion Rutgers before falling to Connecticut in the finals 50-44.
